Goals and Objectives

The overall goal of the ERES Project – High School is to evaluate the impact of Education Reform (ER) on students’ academic experience, their perceptions of teaching practices and their parents’ perceptions of school.

 

More specifically, this study aims to:

  • Describe the academic performance of Québec students as well as their perceptions of teaching practices from the end of Grade 8 up to their enrolment in college.
  • Describe the perceptions their parents have of school.  
  • Measure, at the end of the 1st and 2nd cycles, the quality of the implementation of ER in Québec high schools.
  • Compare school functioning and perceptions of students and parents according to whether students were exposed to ER or not.
  • Compare school functioning and perceptions of students and parents taking into account the quality of ER's implementation.
