The students who agreed to participate in the project ERES-College, following an invitation by telephone, had the option of completing a questionnaire on paper or online. The population recruited is described, according to the cohort they belong to, in this section.

Description of the First Cohort (students not exposed to Education Reform)
1st Measurement Time
The 572 students who filled out the questionnaires in fall 2009 have the following characteristics:
- 79% speak French at home
- 63.4% are girls
- 88.4% have been admitted in their first choice program
- 26% are in a pure and applied science program, 27.3% in a social science and, 20.8% in career programs
- 29.8% have received academic information and career counselling, 28.7% individualized education support and, 14% peer support
- 85.7% live with their both parents
- 48.9% of these students have a job since the beginning of their college and work on average 12.8 hours a week.
2nd Measurement Time
During their 4th semester in college, the participation of every ERES participant was sollicited. The 2nd measurement time included two separate activities : a telephone interview and a questionnaire. Only the participants whose phone numbers were not accurate and who were not attending college were not contacted.
Thus, 655 participants agreed to answer the interview. From that number, 487 returned their completed questionnaire to the lab.
Description of the Second Cohort (students exposed to Education Reform)
1st Measurement Time
The 414 students who filled out the questionnaires in fall 2011 have the following characteristics:
- 83.6 % speak French at home
- 68.6 % are girls
- 92 % have been admitted in their first choice program
- 22.1 % are in a pure and applied science program, 27.7 % in a social science and, 19.5 % in career programs
- 30 % have received academic information and career counselling, 27.5 % individualized education support and, 13.3 % peer support
- 86.5 % live with their both parents
- 53 % of these students have a job since the beginning of their college and work on average 12.9 hours a week.
2nd Mesasurement Time
The method used for this cohort is the same that was used with the first one. Thus, 442 participants agreed to answer the telephone interview. The number of completed questionnaires that were received for these participants is 363.
Description of the Third Cohort (students exposed to Education Reform)
1st Measurement Time
The 393 students who filled out the questionnaires in fall 2012 have the following characteristics:
- 88 % speak French at home
- 57.8 % are girls
- 93.6 % have been admitted in their first choice program
- 29.5 % are in a pure and applied science program, 20.7 % in a social science and, 14.3 % in career programs
- 26.8 % have received academic information and career counselling, 29.9% individualized education support and, 14.9 % peer support
- 85.9 % live with their both parents
- 55.1 % of these students have a job since the beginning of their college and work on average 12.5 hours a week.
2nd Measurement Time
To be consistent with the process that was used for the first cohorts, the method used for the data collection was not modified. At the end of the data collection, 601 participants had agreed to answer the telephone interview and 448 had sent their completed questionnaire.
